Bruce M. Greyell K.C.

The Honourable Bruce M. Greyell* K.C., is one of Roper Greyell’s founding partners. He practiced for 41 years as a labour and employment lawyer and arbitrator before being called to the bench in 2009. In November 2017 he retired from the Supreme Court of British Columbia and rejoined Roper Greyell in a mentorship capacity until April 2020 when he retired from this role.

With over 50 years in the legal profession, Bruce earned a respected reputation as one of Canada’s leading employment lawyers and arbitrators. He acted as legal counsel to many of this country’s major private corporations and Crown Corporations. He served as one of two Commissioners appointed by the federal government to investigate labour relations at West Coast ports in 1996 and acted for the BC and Canada Labour Relations Boards on judicial review applications. During his time on the bench, he presided over complex civil, criminal, and family legal cases.

A resident of Bowen Island, Bruce is an enthusiastic booster of his community’s beauty and potential. He chaired the Bowen Island Parks and Recreation Commission from 1996 to 2000 and is a co-founder and Past Chair of the Bowen Island Community Foundation (2000-2008). Bruce is also a Past Chair and supporter of the BC Centre for Ability.
