Roper Greyell proudly sponsored the TRU Women in Law Society’s annual Panel on March 20, 2026. This year’s theme was Women Supporting Women: Power in Community, which featured four women lawyers who generously shared their insights and experiences with nearly 70 TRU Law students, followed by a lively networking hour. Roper Greyell thanks the Society for once again including us in this important annual event that fosters a strong culture of support and mentorship among women and allies in the legal profession.

Over the past several months, the Roper Greyell Team has had the pleasure of connecting with law students from across British Columbia.

Chira Perla, Teodora Bardas, and incoming Summer Students Brett McCormick and Milind Shakya represented the firm at Career Fairs hosted by UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law (January 21), UVic’s Faculty of Law (January 30), and TRU’s Faculty of Law (February 27). Each event offered a great opportunity to speak with students exploring the early stages of their legal careers.

We applaud everyone who took the time to attend, ask questions, and visit the Roper Greyell table to learn more about our practice. Meeting you was truly a highlight for our team!

Roper Greyell was proud to sponsor the Allard School of Law’s 49th Annual Women in Law Dinner on March 10, 2026. Chira PerlaMorgan Baker, Gabrielle Berron-Styan, Kristi Wong, and Amanda Scorda were joined by four Allard School of Law student guests at this important event that provides a meaningful opportunity for women and allies to celebrate and promote women in the legal profession. The theme of this year’s Dinner was Wellbeing in Law, which featured powerful keynote addresses from the Honourable Justice Michele H. Hollins; Bena Stock, founder of The Lawyer Mindset LL.B., M.C., R.C.C., and Nazma Lee, Senior Legal Counsel in Corporate Finance at the British Columbia Securities Commission. Congratulations to the Allard Law Women’s Caucus for organizing another exceptional event!

The firm is pleased to announce that Chloe Diehl (UBC Allard Law), Brett McCormick (UVic Law), Milind Shakya (UVic Law), and Samuel Tam (UCalgary Law) will be joining Roper Greyell as our 2026 Summer Students. On October 30, 2025, Norika Takacs-Rehm will participate in the Centre for Business Law’s A Day in the Life of a Labour & Employment Lawyer panel, co-moderated by Chira Perla. Norika will share insights into her daily experiences as a workplace law lawyer, shed light on the diverse range of clients she supports, discuss her career path, and offer practical tips to students curious about the practice area. Registration is via UBC’s Centre for Business Law.

Roper Greyell is delighted to welcome our 2025-2026 articling students to the firm! Julia Brewster, Larissa DeWolff, and Tana Wang all summered with the firm in 2024 and, lucky for us, have returned for articles. Welcome back to Team RG – it’s going to be a great year!

Roper Greyell LLP was pleased to be a Gold sponsor for the 43rd Annual Chinese Legal Community Banquet on Friday, July 25th at Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant. Justin D. Wong and Kristi Wong of Roper Greyell hosted a table where attendees enjoyed a traditional 10-course Chinese banquet and interacted and engaged with UBC law students.

The event’s panel of speakers included Anna Fung, K.C., Lana Li, and Iven Tse, who led a discussion that explored how the legal profession has changed over the decades and how law students and junior lawyers can explore the diverse opportunities offered by the profession.

About the Event:

Since 1979, the UBC Chinese Law Students’ Association has hosted an annual banquet for lawyers and students to socialize over a traditional full-course Chinese dinner in recognition of the great cultural diversity in the Greater Vancouver legal community.

This event, whose aim is to draw attendance not only from members of the Chinese legal community, but practitioners from all different cultural backgrounds, allows lawyers and law students to connect, share stories, and discuss issues facing the legal profession.
