Pro Bono Going Public 2019

August 2019

In September, over 100 lawyers will provide free legal advice in Surrey, Vancouver and Kelowna to raise awareness and funds for BC’s pro bono programs as part of the Pro Bono Going Public 2019 event run by Access Pro Bono.

Roper Greyell partner Gregory J. Heywood and associate Carrie Koperski will be participating in this year’s Pro Bono Going Public activities. On September 6, Carrie will be at Victory Square Park in Vancouver to provide free legal advice to low- and modest-income individuals during the course of the day. Greg will be conducting fundraising efforts to support BC’s pro bono programs.

As Greg states, “In my view it is inherent in the privilege of being a lawyer, a corresponding obligation to be a helping profession.  I think it is incumbent upon lawyers to assist those who require legal services but cannot afford them.”

If you wish to support Pro Bono Going Public, donations can be made via Greg’s fundraising page and Carrie’s fundraising page. For more information on Access Pro Bono Going Public 2019 visit: http://advice-a-thon.ca/
